Responsibilities of the Building Utilities Technician I

  • Perform daily checks on all building utility systems
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of facilities-related systems, including HVAC, hot water/steam systems, chillers, and compressed air systems
  • Ensure all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed on time and in compliance with SOPs
  • Perform building repairs
  • Input data and complete paperwork
  • Be available for on-call rotation as required
  • Follow all healthcare laws, regulations, and industry codes
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned

Qualifications of the Building Utilities Technician I

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years’ experience in facility equipment/system maintenance
  • Basic reading, math, comprehension, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with a group and independently
  • Knowledge of proper use of hand tools
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Previous experience in clean room and GMP applications preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

This Building Utilities Technician I position works full-time, first-shift hours with some flexibility on start time and requires rotating on-call duty. Pay depends on experience, ranging up to $75,000/year.
