Canning Line Operator

Responsibilities of the Canning Line Operator

  • Manage and execute canning runs safely and efficiently on a Palmer Rotary canning line
  • Ensure that all runs are completed to the specifications of the co-packing client and internal product quality expectations
  • Operate canning line for the majority of the run, keeping a close eye on can integrity before, during, and after being filled and seamed
  • Communicate any issues that arise to the Canning Line Manager and stop the machine when necessary
  • Help maintain quality product entering the pasteurizer
  • Assist in cleaning the canning machine and the work area before and after runs
  • Assist Canning Line Manager on counting and completing run sheets
  • Perform regular maintenance and multiple daily cleanings
  • Operate and oversee a safe and hygienic work environment
  • Can, pasteurize, label, and package product according to exacting standards and specifications
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise with the depalletizer, canning line, tunnel pasteurizer, labeler, and shrink wrapper
  • Ensure quality of the product, cans, and labels throughout the canning process
  • Monitor and maintain the heat, time, and integrity of the tunnel pasteurizer
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a timely, organized manner
  • Assist with additional projects and activities as needed

Qualifications of the Canning Line Operator

  • Previous machine operator experience and consistent work history
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Safety-first mindset
  • Self-driven
  • Willingness to learn a new process
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely manner

Choose from two different shifts to best fit your schedule! Work either Monday through Thursday from 1:00pm-11:00pm, or Friday through Sunday, 7:00am-7:00pm. Pay for both shifts ranges from $16-$19/hour, depending on experience. Apply today for this Canning Line Operator position!
