Join a successful global manufacturer as a CNC Setup Operator! You’ll work a great first or second shift schedule at their Kittery, ME facility. This direct-hire position includes competitive pay and great benefits like profit sharing, 401(k), pension, medical, dental, PTO, and more!

Responsibilities of the CNC Setup Operator

  • Set up and operate multiple CNC Lathe and Milling machines simultaneously
  • Produce parts per specifications and quality standards
  • Verify dimensions of parts using various gauges
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines, troubleshoot and resolve machine issues by repairing or replacing parts as required, and request assistance on more serious problems
  • Maintain inventory of all tooling, fixturing, collets, spare parts, etc.
  • Analyze tooling wear to aid in improving overall performance
  • Train and assist new and existing operators, setup operators, and cell technicians
  • Assist in analysis of non-conforming parts to determine root cause, and recommend/implement modifications as necessary
  • Complete paperwork
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, and follow 5S+ safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications of the CNC Setup Operator

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing setup experience
  • Knowledge of advanced machining fundamentals and operating skills required
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances, as well as use precision measuring instruments, testing devices, and inspection equipment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) in English
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Math skills including basic trigonometry (sine, cosine, tangent)

Schedule and Pay:

  • 1st Shift: M-F 7am-3:30pm. Pay $22.49/hour
  • 2nd Shift: M-F 3pm-11:30pm. Pay $23.78/hour
