Responsibilities of the Customer Service Specialist

  • Process orders and quotes using ERP system and customer portal website
  • Communicate with customer base via telephone, email, and portal website activity
  • Answer phone calls from current and prospective customers
  • Coordinate with other departments as needed to resolve customer problems
  • Work with Accounting on past due invoices
  • Coordinate technical information, delivery, forecasting, pricing, and general customer service issues both internally and externally
  • Work closely with the Planning Department to track product inventory levels and plans for long-term customer needs based on customer contractual obligations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Customer Service Specialist

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s business or technical degree a plus
  • Prior customer service experience at a manufacturing facility is preferred
  • Team player with a courteous, professional demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage confrontational customer situations
