Database Manager and Gift Processing Administrator

A boarding school is looking to hire a Database Manager and Gift Processing Administrator! In this role you would oversee daily operations of the facility’s databases to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and best practices for gift administration, tax policy, and regulations. This position offers flexibility for either a part-time or full-time schedule, 20-40 hours per week, with the opportunity to work mostly remote!

Responsibilities of the Database Manager and Gift Processing Administrator

  • Manage all gift processing, data entry, biographical records management, and reporting
  • Maintain database systems (Raiser’s Edge and ResearchPoint) to ensure integrity and operational efficiency
  • Work collaboratively and respectfully with all members of the department, and provide reasonable administrative support to all members of the Advancement staff
  • Assist in training of all new staff members on fundraising software
  • Serve as liaison between Advancement and the Business Office, supporting internal auditing and reconciliation functions
  • Work closely with the Business Office to establish and monitor gift acceptance, recording, and accounting policies in accordance with professional standards
  • Ensure that all relevant team members have a solid understanding of information systems, and are responsible for the integrity of the database and compliant with sound financial management policies (including FASB)
  • Analyze the database system’s overall functionality and methods of operation in support of major fundraising initiatives
  • Design, develop, and create targeted reports and other tools
  • Establish and monitor key metrics to track progress in specific areas and toward established goals
  • Supervise the design and update of mailing lists and queries for regular mailing campaigns, events, donor acknowledgements, and other functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Database Manager and Gift Processing Administrator

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of experience with Raiser’s Edge or equivalent database software
  • Proficiency in MS office and high level of comfort with the use of technology
  • Demonstrated organizational and operational skills, superior interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
  • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
  • Dependable team player who jumps in and contributes at all levels
