A large, well-known manufacturer is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join its growing team. In this direct-hire role, you’ll design and develop electrical systems and sensors for commercial equipment, working closely with engineering teams and vendors to bring innovative, reliable products to the marketplace.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer
- Develop and maintain various electrical projects, ensuring designs implement proper technologies and techniques while meeting all customer, manufacturing, and agency requirements
- Perform electrical system verification and validation testing
- Develop PCB layouts, place components, and determine wire routings
- Work directly with customers, sales managers, project managers, and internal teams to identify customer requirements, establish design expectations, and meet agreed-upon design, performance, and goals for projects
- Adhere to project timelines to ensure all key deliverables are met
- Coordinate prototype and field testing, and perform risk assessment tests
- Coordinate project activities to ensure smooth release of products into contract manufacturing
- Write technical papers, maintain laboratory notebooks, prepare invention disclosures, and work on patent applications
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications of the Electrical Engineer
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer license a plus
- Proficiency in electrical, schematic, and PCB design
- Ability to read and interpret hardware schematics and datasheets, and create specification documentation, program flow charts, and operation manuals
- Ability to use electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and data acquisition systems
- MS Office Suite; familiarity with ECAD software suites (Altium, OrCAD)
- Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary product development teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of software testing/evaluation, PLC programming a plus
- Knowledge of SPI, I2C, serial, and CAN bus communication protocols a plus
- Familiarity with higher-layer protocols (TCP/UDP, Modbus) a plus
