Embossing Machine Operator

Join a global leader as an Embossing Machine Operator in Newburyport, MA! In this direct-hire role, you’ll help produce this company’s innovative foils and films. This full-time, third-shift opportunity is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented and mechanically inclined!

Responsibilities of the Embossing Machine Operator

  • Make required machine changeovers, loading and unloading materials
  • Make machine adjustments to material feeds, imprint shims, rollers or cylinders, take-up/idler rolls, tension rollers, heating/cooling, or curing sources according to material type
  • Ensure adjustments are made to the machine’s computerized control panel
  • Inspect for rainbow effect, design application, run out, and adherence to specifications
  • Place, align, bolt, clamp, and secure fixtures, guides, sensors, slitters, switches, rollers, tension bars, material and take-up reels, feed, and other mechanisms
  • Dial in job specifications into controller and set speeds, feed, pressures, tensions, stops according to material type
  • Cross train in other departments when necessary
  • Ensure machines are routinely maintained and that material stocks are available and ready for production runs
  • Clear machinery jams/malfunctions, and make required film splices and retreads of broken films
  • Record production run quantities, job orders, product and materials used, and machinery downtimes
  • Participate in inventory control, data entry, and other operations
  • Transport processed materials to storage or holding areas
  • Maintain established quality standards, safety precautions, and other policies and procedures
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, operational, and safe condition per 5S standards

Qualifications of the Embossing Machine Operator

  • Able to use shop arithmetic, including decimals and fractions; simple use of charts, tables, specifications, schedules, computer-programmed controllers
  • Knowledge of machine and equipment operations with the ability to use adjustable measuring instruments
  • 2+ years of machine operator experience
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills

Hours for this Embossing Machine Operator position are Monday through Friday, 11:00pm-7:00am. Apply today!
