Engineering Manager

A plastic extrusion company is seeking someone with manufacturing experience and strong leadership skills for their Engineering Manager role. This is an excellent direct hire opportunity at an established employer.

Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager

• Design, develop, and implement new processes, test methods and equipment
• Conduct engineering studies for process improvements and validations
• Design, install, and commission new production equipment and modifications/upgrades, and troubleshoot existing processes
• Manage capital projects including vendor selection process for all new equipment
• Develop, implement, and document procedures to provide easy-to-follow instructions
• Communicate, collaborate, and incorporate new procedures across multiple products and projects
• Identify and define problems and key contributors for leading solutions activities
• Collaborate with other locations on long and short-term assignments
• Plan, develop, and coordinate customer trials (APQP), including material selection, extrusion line set-up/start-up, customer requirements, in-process, and final inspection protocols
• Promote company core values with key focus on safety
• Assist with other various duties as assigned by management

Qualifications of the Engineering Manager

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum 5 years’ manufacturing experience
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, CAD, statistical software, Salesforce)
• Experience with DFA/M (design for assembly/manufacturing)
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent knowledge and use of statistical analysis methods for experimental design protocols and study results
• Ability to effectively lead small teams and interact as technical representative in product/project core teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills required for protocols, observations, results, and other reporting
