Executive Housekeeper

Join the team at a bustling luxury retreat in a Southern Vermont ski town as an Executive Housekeeper! Leddy Group is looking for an individual who can lead and motivate the housekeeping and laundry department staff of the historic Equinox Golf Resort & Spa, ensuring that team members uphold the hotel’s high service standards. This full-time, direct-hire position offers fabulous benefits including medical, dental, vision, HSAs, FSAs, life insurance, long and short-term disability, 401K and more! Responsibilities of the Executive Housekeeper

  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance
  • Educate and train all team members in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations
  • Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties
  • May assist with deep-cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during high-volume periods
  • Manage the quality of housekeeping and laundry services and schedule routine inspections of all guest rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, rooms, equipment, linens, public restrooms, lobby, etc. are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction
  • Carry out the special needs and requests of guests, VIPs, repeat visitors, and club members
  • Respond to guest complaints and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction; remain alert, courteous, and helpful to guests at all times
  • Work collaboratively with HR department in recruiting and hiring of housekeeping positions
  • Process departmental payroll
  • Coordinate with the Front Office to review occupancy levels and staff labor accordingly
  • Maintain and manage room inventory, major maintenance and repairs, renovations, and general cleaning
  • Supervise inventory system for supplies and equipment, establish reorder levels, and keep repair records for equipment
  • Maintain records of linen usage, review linen inventory, and oversee laundry operations
  • Coordinate supplies and equipment through requisition system and the Purchasing Department
  • Prepare an annual budget outline for capital expenditures for the Housekeeping Department

Qualifications of the Executive Housekeeper

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in hotel housekeeping related roles
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Requires the ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely, accurate manner
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals along with regulatory compliance
  • Good computer skills with MS Office & Outlook experience; knowledge of hotel property management systems preferred (Opera & Lightspeed)
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays
