Fiber Optic Assembler

An advanced technology manufacturing company in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Fiber Optic Assembler. This fast-growing company specializes in electrical interconnect systems for extreme environments. Responsibilities of the Fiber Optic Assembler

  • Perform a variety of intricate wiring and bonding on fiber optic cable, connectors, electrical penetrators, junction boxes, and similar equipment under direction of supervisor
  • Read and understand schematic wiring diagrams and process sheets
  • Use simple electrical instruments to make polarity determinations, measure insulating resistance, and perform dielectric withstanding voltage tests
  • Properly assemble and use various molds and plastic injection devices
  • Work from detailed instructions on standard assemblies with guidance and supervision
  • Ensure products meet specifications and quality level is maintained
  • Maintain company standards of performance and comply with housekeeping, safety policies, and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Fiber Optic Assembler

  • 5-7 years or more of related experience, technical school, and/or training
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products and ERP or MRP systems
  • Proven leadership skills and experience supervising and motivating others
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Must be able to adapt to change and maintain a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn new skills and train others
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. rarely, 20-30 lbs. occasionally
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Hours are first shift, Monday through Friday from 6:00am-2:30pm. Pay ranges from $18-19/hour. Apply today for this Fiber Optic Assembler position!
