An advanced technology manufacturing company in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Fiber Optic Assembler. The ideal candidate is a professional, positive team player who can adapt to change at this fast-growing company. This is a full time, first shift opportunity!
Responsibilities of the Fiber Optic Assembler
- Perform a variety of intricate wiring and bonding on fiber optic cable, connectors, electrical penetrators, junction boxes, and similar equipment
- Read and interpret schematic wiring diagrams and process sheets
- Use simple electrical instruments to make polarity determinations, measure insulating resistance, and perform dielectric withstanding voltage tests
- Assemble products and use various molds and plastic injection devices
- Work from detailed instructions on standard assemblies
- Ensure work meets specifications and quality requirements
- Comply with housekeeping, safety policies, and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications of the Fiber Optic Assembler
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5-7 years or more of related experience, technical school, and/or training
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing
- Strong math and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiar with MS Office and ERP or MRP systems
- Proven leadership skills and experience supervising and motivating others
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. rarely, 20-30 lbs. occasionally
The Fiber Optic Assembler works Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm. Pay depends on experience, starting at $20/hour – if you have experience, this company is VERY flexible, and they will also assist with relocation costs if necessary!
