Our client is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide customer support in the electrical installation, commissioning, upgrading, and maintenance of their equipment. An international team on site and in the back offices around the globe will support you and train you.

This exciting direct hire opportunity involves both domestic and international travel 75% of the time, and fantastic benefits including:

Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer – Mechanical

  • Manage construction sites and participate in phases of assembly, check-up (mechanical/electrical functional testing), and start-up (process commissioning) in an efficient, high-quality, and timely manner
  • Oversee assigned employees or customer personnel throughout construction
  • Provide technical support for customer requests and internal requests for upgrades and spare parts
  • Manage mechanical implementation of all services or service/maintenance inserts for all modules
  • Assist hotline activities in a rotational dispatch system when necessary
  • Ensure comprehensive information transfer to project manager and supervisors
  • Prepare all official construction site and service documents
  • Lead and execute in-house and on-site customer training
  • Travel as required to meet customers’ scheduling needs
  • Enforce occupational safety, plant safety, and health measures according to the instructions of the site manager and/or customer

Qualifications of the Field Service Engineer – Mechanical

  • College degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar field preferred
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • IT skills and good knowledge of automation systems
  • Experience with machinery equipment in plastics industry is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is preferred
  • Team player with solution-oriented and responsible way of working
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel abroad for longer time periods (up to 2 months) and travel in the U.S.
