Responsibilities of the Human Resources and Health & Safety Manager

  • Develop a stimulating and durable company culture of Health & Safety in compliance with legal guidelines
  • Evaluate facility and current procedures to assess risk and adherence to the law, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Communicate Health & Safety plans and policies across the organization
  • Plan, organize, and implement training and activities that promote Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Coordinate risk prevention programs and workplace safety inspections
  • Manage workplace injury files in collaboration with our consultants
  • Maintain pay plan and benefits program
  • Manage the employee recruitment and selection process
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Act as coach and strategic partner for the management team
  • Prepare HR-related reports

Qualifications of the Human Resources and Health & Safety Manager

  • Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 5-8 year of related experience
  • Prior team management experience is highly preferred
  • Expert knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and HR best practices
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Positive, professional demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Creative with the ability to work well independently
  • PHR/SPHR certification is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office
