Industrial Engineer – Automation
Our client is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to focus on automation and process improvement at their Nashua, NH facility. This full-time, direct-hire position is perfect for an analytical thinker with at least three years of experience who would like to grow into a supervisory role within the forming department, where the robotics will be implemented.
Responsibilities of the Industrial Engineer – Automation

• Lead the design, evaluation, and implementation of automated packaging solutions (robotics, vision systems, conveyor systems, palletizing, case packing, labeling, and material handling)
• Analyze current packaging processes to identify automation opportunities and ROI-driven improvements
• Develop and maintain time studies, workflow analysis, value stream mapping, and capacity modeling
• Support equipment layout design and facility optimization initiatives
• Leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to optimize packaging line performance, enable predictive maintenance, and improve quality inspection accuracy
• Utilize advanced data analytics and AI-driven modeling to identify process inefficiencies, reduce downtime, and support data-driven operational decision-making
• Manage automation and capital improvement projects from concept through implementation and post-launch optimization; develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and technical specifications
• Works cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and external vendors to implement scalable and sustainable solutions
• Support safety initiatives
• Perform additional tasks as required

Qualifications of the Industrial Engineer – Automation

• 3-7+ years of industrial engineering experience in manufacturing
• Experience improving automated production or packaging lines
• Lean/Six Sigma/process improvement experience
• Bilingual (Spanish/English)
• Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Minitab, Power BI or similar)
• Experience leading automation or equipment improvement projects
• Strong understanding of assembly lines, manufacturing methods, and material workflows
• Proven ability to craft effective prompts and manage AI tool outputs, as well as collaborate effectively between AI tools and human judgment
• Experience with AutoCAD or other layout/design software
• Knowledge of OEE tracking, time studies, and capacity modeling
• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems
• Hands-on experience with robotics, PLC interfaces, vision systems, or material handling systems preferred
• Desire to grow into a supervisory capacity and ability to work cross-functionally
