Responsibilities of the Insurance Claims Representative
- Submit insurance claims per regulations and policies
- Follow up on rejected claims, adjustments, rebilling, corrected claims, appeals, etc.
- Identify claim denials for payer trends and report them to supervisor
- Answer phone calls from both patients and insurance companies to resolve billing issues
- Respond to attorney’s requests for medical records and bills
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality, ethical, and professional standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications of the Insurance Claims Representative
- Prior billing and AR-related experience preferred; will also consider candidates with strong customer service skills/experience
- Attention to detail and organizational skills required
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Proven analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of Docutap or other practice management software
