A medical device company in Laconia, NH is seeking a detail-oriented, positive team player for their Manufacturing Engineer II role. You’ll apply engineering principles to drive process improvements in the manufacture of their cutting-edge product lines, while positively affecting quality, delivery, cost, safety, and morale. Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer II
- Create and implement lean processes in a cellular environment utilizing appropriate methods such as machining, welding, finishing, cleaning, assembly, and inspection
- Produce documents including work instructions, engineering drawings, equipment layouts, change orders, and specifications
- Develop tooling, fixtures, and equipment to optimize productivity and cost
- Create, schedule, conduct and/or coordinate detailed project plans
- Investigate, develop, and implement new process technologies
- Collaborate with development, programmers, machinist, and suppliers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and cost reduction
- Manage CAPAs
- Drive improvements through root cause analysis and data-driven decision making
- Participate in cross-functional project teams to implement creative solutions
- Create and execute validation protocols, processes, and material evaluations
- Support maintenance team as needed to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Adhere to all quality and regulatory requirements
Qualifications of the Manufacturing Engineer II
- Engineering degree or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field plus 3-5 years of applicable experience
- Knowledge of PLC programming
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks, Minitab
- Lean manufacturing and new product development/launch support experience is highly desirable
- Experience in medical devices preferred
- Statistical knowledge and understanding of metals machining and polishing is preferred
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team with minimum supervision
