Manufacturing Process Engineer

A leading contract manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their team in Manchester, NH. In this role, you’ll oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for this company’s specialized equipment serving the defense, medical, semiconductor, and industrial markets. This is a great direct-hire opportunity at a family-owned company that has been in business over 80 years!

Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Process Engineer

  • Define and develop manufacturing and inspection processes
  • Create manufacturing routings based on project requirements
  • Create and maintain work instructions, setup sheets, and tooling lists
  • Establish control plans for critical features
  • Define inspection requirements to meet customer specifications
  • Champion process development to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency
  • Determine and eliminate root cause of quality defects created by existing manufacturing processes
  • Assist in optimizing plant layout for better utilization of space and flow of product
  • Develop tools, fixtures, and test equipment required for manufacturing
  • Serve as the company subject matter expert concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment in order to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiencies
  • Support legacy and new product introduction projects working with a team of Program Managers and Project Engineers to meet shipment goals
  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment
  • Establish effective relationships and networks with both managers/directors and workers, and work collaboratively to accomplish shared purposes and goals
  • Abide by GSM Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards and observe all U.S. and foreign laws and regulations

Qualifications of the Manufacturing Process Engineer

  • BS in Mechanical, Quality, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience developing manufacturing processes for machining, welding, and/or electromechanical assembly
  • 3+ years of experience in a defense/aerospace related job shop environment
  • Experience with manufacturing processes including CNC machining, paint/coating/plating, welding, heat treating, and assembly
  • Knowledge of GD&T and experience interpreting detailed engineering drawings
  • Experience with project management responsibilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Solidworks
  • Experience with CAM software a plus, especially CAMworks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance a plus
