Mechanical Assembly Technician

An innovative R&D firm is looking for a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join their team! In this role, you would assist production and engineering personnel in the manufacturing of specialized technology. If you’re willing to learn and have basic mechanical skills, the company will train you. This is a great first-shift, full-time opportunity at an organization dedicated to sustainable and efficient energy production!

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Assembly Technician

  • Train on all assembly stations
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, wear appropriate safety gear, and collect required tools and cell details specified for each station
  • Use tools to take precision measurements and document on manufacturing travelers
  • Align cell details and assemble according to the process of the manufacturing station
  • Use a resistance welder, pallet jacks, and simple shop tools (pneumatic die grinder, belt sander, band saw, deburring wheel, drill, and skill saw)
  • Conduct quality control inspections at each station
  • Keep records of inspection data, assembly data, production quantities, and throughput time
  • Maintain equipment and service intervals as equipment documents describe
  • Report on issues of failures, broken equipment, defective parts, and spills
  • Perform other related tasks as needed

Qualifications of the Mechanical Assembly Technician

  • One year of assembly or other relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Tech certificate is preferred but not required
  • Technical knowledge of small tools and simple assemblies
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and use standard shop tools
  • Knowledge of and experience with precision measuring/inspection tools
  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Solid communication skills
  • Computer skills including MS Word; knowledge of Excel is helpful
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand throughout your shift

Hours for this Mechanical Assembly Technician position are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Pay depends on experience, ranging from $15-$18/hour. Apply today!
