If you’re looking for an interesting short-term career opportunity, then consider this Mechanical Drafter/Designer position in Nashua, NH. You’ll work with a small team to design, build, and deploy custom electro-chemical processing equipment for the lithium-ion battery industry. The ideal candidate has a strong OEM background in production equipment design, detailing, and mechanical engineering documentation. This is for a 6-month contract.
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Drafter/Designer
- Work with engineering team to design and scale custom prelithiation equipment
- Design and detail parts and assemblies
- Work independently to finish designs and detail and assembly drawings
- Implement design changes and improvements for existing machines
- Create and maintain engineering data for assigned projects, including drawings and 3D data for production and BOMs
- Work with contract manufacturers to assure quality parts and assemblies
- Create layout drawings of new equipment for production sites in collaboration with engineering team
Qualifications of the Mechanical Drafter/Designer
- High school education or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with PTC Creo
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with finishing designs and drawing creation
- Experience with metric drawings and ISO standards a plus
- Experience with sheet metal design and weldments is preferred
- Knowledge of GD&T and metric tolerancing is preferred
