Plastic Components Assembler

Do you want a three-day weekend, every weekend?  A plastics company is hiring first and second shift Plastic Components Assemblers for their newly expanded Pelham facility! This company is dedicated to hiring talented employees who bring diverse and new work experience, skills, and perspectives.

Responsibilities of the Plastic Components Assembler

  • Perform intricate assembly of plastic medical components in accordance with written and verbal work instructions, manufacturing procedures, and drawings/blueprints
  • Inspect components in-process for defects
  • Use fixtures and dies, such as cut-to-length fixtures, to modify plastic components
  • Perform various tasks in preparation of assembly, such as cutting tubing to specified length and cleaning components
  • Operate a variety of equipment within the assembly process to alter parts and tubing configurations, including but not limited to eye coring machine, hot blocks, RF machine, tip grinder, and pad printer
  • Use measurement devices such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and scales in performing routine assembly of plastic components
  • Enter data including component quantities, scrap quantities, defect codes, and other required information into the company’s ERP system with the use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and barcode scanner
  • Adhere to good documentation practices and complete manufacturing documentation as required (i.e., job travelers, run sheets, hourly data, communication board, etc.)
  • Ensure work station meets company standards for cleanliness, safety, and line clearance
  • Maintain compliance with quality management system procedures and guidelines
  • Notify Group Leader or Supervisor when components do not conform to specification
  • Report any safety related issues to Group Leader or Supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Plastic Components Assembler

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience assembling small parts
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Ability to read or learn to read drawings/blueprints
  • Strong fine motor skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to use a microscope, magnified ring light, and measurement devices (vernier calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, etc.)
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Ability to push, pull or lift up to 20 lbs.

Choose from first or second shift to best fit your schedule! First shift works Monday through Thursday, 5:30am-4:00pm. Second shift works Monday through Thursday, 4:15pm-2:45am. Starting pay is $14.50-$16/hour, depending on experience, with a 7% differential for second shift.
