Production Materials Specialist

A leading manufacturer of wire and cable assemblies is seeking a Production Materials Specialist in Hudson, NH! This company services a diverse group of industries including defense, aerospace, industrial, medical, and commercial. In this first-shift role you would prepare orders for both domestic and international shipment as well as facilitate production activities to meet customer expectations. Responsibilities of the Production Materials Specialist

  • Verify that part number, quantity, and revision (where applicable) matches related documents
  • Weigh and/or measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against pack list, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and/or other related documents
  • Perform transactions in operating system as required in recording of all outgoing shipment information
  • Prepare shipping documents and package the goods in shipping containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding
  • Properly address and label shipments, ensuring correct freight or postal rates are used
  • Ensure all customer shipping instructions/requirements are met
  • Arrange pickup with carriers outside of normal pickup schedules
  • Coordinate hand carry delivery required to deliver hand carry shipments
  • Provide direction to others in preparing outgoing shipments
  • Establish priorities for specific customer orders, and revise schedule according to work order requirements
  • Add parts to inventory upon receipt and update system information
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies, and submit replenishment requests as needed
  • Operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments to shipping and receiving platform
  • Keep shipping and dock areas clear and free of material and debris
  • Follow all safety requirements
  • Review and update reports to effectively communicate the manufacturing status of assigned product groups
  • Manage and maintain production schedule for the manufacturing activities of assigned product groups
  • Expedite and maintain status of production jobs, and follow up with other departments as required in support of production schedules
  • Identify problems and take corrective action, escalating to appropriate department managers as required

Qualifications of the Production Materials Specialist

  • 2-5 years of experience in Shipping & Receiving and Production Control
  • International shipping experience is a plus
  • Knowledgeable of acceptable shipping materials and methods
  • Must be capable of using scanners, postage machines, and scales
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamic
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

The Production Materials Specialist works Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-4:30pm and every other Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm. Starting pay ranges from $18-19/hour depending on experience. Apply today!
