Quality Assurance Inspector

An Amherst, NH manufacturer is looking for a Quality Assurance Inspector to join their team! In this role, you’ll help ensure their innovative products meet quality standards throughout the production process. Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Inspector

  • Perform in-process and final inspection; observe and report discrepancies for corrective action
  • Read drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, BOMs, and assembly procedures to perform inspections and tests
  • Use ERP and document directories to verify correct version of documentation
  • Perform inspections on product with and without magnification using workmanship standards and reference industry standards, i.e., IPC-A-610
  • Use test equipment such as calipers, steel rulers, assembly fixtures, and others as required
  • Identify and record defects, entering data in electronic media to track and report quality metrics
  • Complete other appropriate tags and inventory movement forms as needed
  • Monitor implementation of quality standards and training of personnel to achieve standards in inspection
  • Confer with engineers, supervision, and employees regarding the inspection procedures and inspection results to resolve problems
  • Support documentation control (write, edit, control ISO documentation/procedures/work instructions, etc.)
  • Perform internal audits as required/assigned
  • Cross-train with incoming inspector to be able to assist when necessary
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Quality Assurance Inspector

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school degree, or certificate in Electro Mechanical Assembly or inspection and test techniques preferred
  • 1-2 years of prior QA and inspection experience
  • Computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access), email software, as well as other Quality or MRP software
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work well with all levels of employees, management, and customers/vendors
  • Ability to communicate quality concerns to employees and discuss the proper method of assembly to meet the quality criteria
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes as well as the ability to follow or document processes
  • Knowledge of electronic components, inspection, and test equipment
  • Understanding of ISO 9001
  • Ability to interpret and work to current IPC-A-610 standard
  • Ability to operate hand measuring equipment and tools
  • Ability to follow written instructions and look for opportunities for improvement
  • Internal audit experience preferred

Hours for this Quality Assurance Inspector position are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Pay depends on experience, ranging from $17-$19/hour.
