Quality Control Manager

Well known cable manufacturing company in the Manchester, NH area is looking for a Quality Control Manager. The Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing the quality control process to ensure that business objectives are being achieved, managing the QC technician team, ensuring that products are free of defects, and enforcing adherence to the company’s quality procedures and guidelines. The right candidate for this opportunity will have 10+ years of manufacturing experience, strong leadership skills, and a solutions-oriented style.

Responsibilities of the Quality Control Manager: 

  • Monitor the quality control department including equipment and personnel performance.
  • Make suggestions for process improvements and implement new techniques that will increase efficiency and accuracy in the QC process.
  • Implement and captain training programs for QC technicians.
  • Maintain calibration and gage R&R systems.
  • Partner with engineering to develop test procedures and procure test equipment as needed.
  • Maintain and improve the effectiveness of the Non-Conforming Material System, providing positive identification, logging, and data mining of NCM.
  • Review and approve manufacturing specifications, engineering change orders, pilot shop orders, and rework procedures as needed.
  • Partner with engineering and suppliers to establish and maintain specifications for raw materials, manufacturing processes, and finished goods.
  • Manage the QC team by conducting performance reviews, managing time off, coaching, and mentoring the team.
  • Ensure that safety procedures and guidelines are being followed by the team.
  • Consistently interface with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Conduct internal audits as needed

Qualifications of the Quality Control Manager Role: 

  • BS degree in Engineering preferred, and/or equivalent experience.
  • ASQ: CQE OR CQA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Professional communication skills to interact effectively with all customers, employees, and outside vendors, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MiniTab, or JMP.
