Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer

  • Maintain systems, procedures, and work instructions to inspect manufactured plastic parts for quality standards
  • Test and inspect in-process and finished products; record and analyze inspection data
  • Manage product conformance verification
  • Work with manufacturing to address product quality issues
  • Propose, initiate, and follow up on corrective actions
  • Fulfill quality standards and documentation for customers as required; record and resolve any customer issues
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and sales on continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in evaluating and quoting new business opportunities
  • Implement and maintain the calibration of test and measurement equipment
  • Receive and inspect incoming raw materials
  • Help promote a clean and safe working environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Quality Engineer

  • AS/BS Engineering, Science, or similar field
  • Minimum of five years’ related experience
  • Ability to set up, operate, and program a CMM; use inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.); and read and interpret complex drawings
  • Sound knowledge of GD&T
  • Sound knowledge and abilities in Statistical Process Control preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others
