R&D Associate Engineer

A leader in specialty nonwoven fabrics is seeking an R&D Associate Engineer to join their team for product development. You’ll perform a variety of engineering functions to design, plan, implement, and construct new and innovative samples of this company’s environmentally sustainable products for their clients around the globe. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity in a positive, dynamic Lean culture.

Responsibilities of the R&D Associate Engineer

  • Participate as a member of the R&D team, executing projects in a diligent, professional manner
  • Design new products and product improvements to meet business and consumer needs
  • Lead individual development projects, and implement and organize the documentation of results and conclusions
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing for new process start-ups and enhancements
  • Add new product information to the corporate system (E1)
  • Recommend and implement technical improvements through product redesigns
  • Recommend and implement product inventory actions to support cost improvements
  • Collaborate with other groups in the organization (Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, IS, and Purchasing) to assist with corporate directives
  • Assist the sample coordinator, managing the inventory and distribution of all samples to in-house and outside sales, customers, and trade show events
  • Coordinate the PPAP process and annual test validations
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Qualifications of the R&D Associate Engineer

  • BS degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal staff as well as external sales, vendors, and customers
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Computer proficiency (email, Word, Excel, Access, E1)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
