Responsibilities of the Repair Technician
- Perform diagnostic testing on mechanical and electronic equipment, including modules, controllers, frames, and auxiliary components
- Repair, scrap, or accept as is product after diagnostic testing and root-cause analysis
- Assist in corrective and preventive actions as needed
- Research and obtain equipment specifications, test procedures, diagnostic information, and required documents needed for processing
- Prioritize activities based on legacy and current product repaired inventory, internal and external customer needs, and queue of returned product pending processing
- Configure equipment hardware and software as needed/required
- Catalog returned products and maintain parts inventory
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement opportunities such as increased IT and manufacturing efficiencies
- Work collaboratively with team to meet goals
- Follow all safety and ESD procedures to ensure personal and product safety
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications of the Repair Technician
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 1-2 years related experience and/or training required; technical school and/or Test Engineer Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have a broad mechanical understanding of repair or manufacturing assembly/disassembly functions
- Experience soldering PCBAs
- Attention to detail and strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable working under pressure
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as electrical schematics, design drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Adept at problem-solving and troubleshooting computer hardware and or software-related issues
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- OEM-approved training for desktop, laptop, PCBAs, point of sale equipment, etc. is a plus
- A+/ICET/Networking Certification is a plus
- Computer proficiency, knowledge of ERP is helpful
