Second Shift Production Supervisor 

A global manufacturer is looking for a Second Shift Production Supervisor for their Amesbury, MA facility. In this role, you would be responsible for day-to-day operations on the second shift, ensuring everything runs according to production specifications and schedules. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity!

Responsibilities of the Second Shift Production Supervisor 

  • Establish a culture of safety first, assuring full training coverage of all personnel, completing and implementing job hazard risk reductions, and conducting full root cause investigations for incidents that occur
  • Track and respond to quality trends on production floor, coaching employees and collaborating with quality engineers to systematically reduce warranty, scrap, and rework trends
  • Manage shop floor personnel to meet scheduling expectations and ensure on-time delivery of products and cost control
  • Motivate, train, develop, and discipline employees
  • Ensure all production tasks are performed, and all machines and equipment operate safely and efficiently
  • Set, measure, and optimize standards of performance, and provide reports and feedback to department personnel
  • Take ownership of providing feedback and solutions to engineering and other departments to reduce scrap, rework, and outside processing
  • Identify potential issues and develop a plan of action to mitigate
  • Redesign processes to maximize efficiency
  • Utilize formal tools and training to continuously improve shop floor safety, quality, and efficiency, i.e., root cause corrective action techniques, 5S, visual management, and value stream mapping
  • Assist in implementation of manufacturing technology improvements, new capital equipment procurement and installation, and provide support for product improvement and value engineering enhancements
  • Create, manage, and update all new and existing bill of materials via ECR process
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Second Shift Production Supervisor

  • BA/BS Management/Engineering, or high school diploma and 6 years progressive experience in the production environment
  • Requires ability to learn processes, equipment, and manufacturing techniques
  • Proven leadership skills and professional demeanor with the ability to excel in a team environment
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability and experience with continuous improvement techniques; world class manufacturing training a plus
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office and Glovia or similar ERP
  • ISO experience
  • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Must have the appropriate technical skills
  • Customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 20 lbs. frequently

The Second Shift Production Supervisor works Monday through Friday, 4:30pm-2:30am. Salary is commensurate with experience. Apply today!
