You’ll provide leadership to the second shift team at this Manchester, NH facility to ensure a safe, clean, and non-threatening environment to persons experiencing homelessness. This is an excellent direct hire opportunity at an organization dedicated to serving the most vulnerable population.

Responsibilities of the Shelter Support Supervisor

  • Provide direction, coaching, and training to staff on supervising participant activities and responding to all questions and concerns
  • Assist with ensuring staff and participants understand and comply with program requirements, rules, and regulations
  • Provide guidance on bed assignments and other daily routines as necessary to support efficient daily operations
  • Oversee and assist with tasks to maintain shelter cleanliness
  • Address behavioral issues that create disharmony
  • Help implement policy and program updates in support of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide direction on all areas of daily program maintenance in compliance with the organization’s policies
  • Monitor supply inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Review shift logs and take appropriate action on incident reports and written violations
  • Address participant concerns, potential workflow problems, and/or any exceptions to policy that can impact program security
  • Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage and to accomplish program objectives
  • Maintain a working knowledge of fire, safety, and health standards
  • Attend training sessions and perform related duties as assigned or required

Qualifications of the Shelter Support Supervisor

  • 5 years working in shelter environment
  • Understanding and knowledge of housing safety concerns
  • Demonstrated proficiency in excellent customer service
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Must be willing to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends

The Shelter Support Supervisor works second shift, Wednesdays through Saturdays (10-hour days).  Salary depends on experience, from $45,000+/year. We look forward to hearing from you!
