Sr. Buyer

A premier employer is seeking a Sr. Buyer at their facility in Portsmouth, NH. You’ll be responsible for procuring materials and contributing to the execution of strategic initiatives in this advanced technology manufacturer’s fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities of the Sr. Buyer

• Negotiate and procure direct and indirect materials from approved suppliers at optimal total cost of ownership (TCO)
• Ensure procurement specifications, drawings, and supplemental info is properly transmitted to suppliers
• Update and reconcile vendor database, ensuring supplier master data is accurate
• Prepare periodic and special purpose reports
• Collaboratively interface with suppliers and internal customers
• Coordinate, conduct, and participate in cross-functional team meetings to investigate and recommend continuous process improvement activities and cost reduction initiatives
• Maintain and monitor inventory levels within scope of procurement responsibilities
• Analyze, process, and update all purchasing requirements in ERP system to reflect contractual obligations and meet production schedules and customer requirements
• Demonstrate initiative

Qualifications of the Sr. Buyer

• Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or equivalent) or 5 years’ experience in the purchasing of materials and sourcing within a manufacturing environment
• High degree of comprehension in MRP, category management, TCO
• Lean/Six Sigma
• Demonstrated excellence in negotiating, project management, data analytics, and problem solving
