Sr. Process Engineer
Our manufacturing client is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer with rubber molding experience for their team. This full-time, direct-hire role will work hands-on to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and quality of the company’s rubber molding processes in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
Responsibilities of the Sr. Process Engineer

  • Analyze and optimize all aspects of rubber molding processes, including material preparation, workstation design and layout, workflow, safety and ergonomics, robustness, post-molding operations, and packaging
  • Develop processes for new products and first article production runs
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and production staff
  • Actively participate in production by running equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring continuous production flow
  • Develop and implement process improvements, tooling changes, and equipment upgrades to enhance productivity and safety
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve process and product improvements
  • Establish and maintain SOPs
  • Lead or assist in new product development projects, including the design of molds, tooling, and manufacturing processes
  • Manage relationships with tooling suppliers

Qualifications of the Sr. Process Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required; a master’s degree is a plus
  • Proven experience as a Process Engineer in a rubber molding environment, with a minimum of 5 years of rubber molding experience required
  • In-depth knowledge of injection, compression, and transfer molding processes
  • Proficient with solid modeling
  • Familiar with ERP systems
  • Project management experience
  • Proficient in statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making
  • Knowledge of quality control principles and experience with Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Customer-focused and proactive
