Responsibilities of the Sr. Project and Design Engineer

  • Design solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Ensure successful and timely delivery of fully buildable packages to manufacturing
  • Create procedures, engineering reports, test standards, and new fixtures
  • Perform formal design reviews, provide technical support to manufacturing, and assist with technical review of quotes and orders
  • Participate in failure analysis activities, provide technical input to root cause analysis evaluation, and oversee development of test plans
  • Perform technical analysis on new designs (i.e., stress analysis, electrical, tolerance stack-up, thermal, corrosion, etc.)

Qualifications of the Sr. Project and Design Engineer

  • BS/MS degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • 7+ years’ experience in a related industry, ideally working with a supplier for subsea defense products
  • Strong engineering aptitude with hands-on capabilities
  • Understanding of general safety practices in high pressure, thermal, and electrical operational and test environments
  • Familiarity with basic temperature, pressure, insulation resistance, continuity resistance, vibration and shock requirements, and measurement techniques
  • Preferred to have understanding of electrical (power and communications) interconnectivity
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD program and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with Six Sigma, FMEA
  • Strong written and verbal communication techniques
  • Experience with welding, RF design, electrical design, or FEA desirable but not required
