Stockroom/Inventory Clerk

An industry pioneer in the production of reliable laboratory equipment is seeking a Stockroom/Inventory Clerk to join their growing business in Sanford, ME. In this role, you would function as part of a team with other manufacturing personnel to control and issue materials for production. This is a great full-time, first-shift opportunity!

Responsibilities of the Stockroom/Inventory Clerk

  • Retrieve material from store locations and make up material kit list for internal customers in advance of date required
  • Execute accurate inventory transactions in the business system in a timely manner
  • Resolve BOM/KIT usage discrepancies and work with Engineering to ensure that BOM errors are corrected in a timely manner
  • Research and resolve count discrepancies
  • Maintain first-in first-out rotation of stock
  • Maintain stockroom organization to 5S standard
  • Reconcile computer quantity to shelf quantity
  • Keep shop floor supplied with bulk issued material
  • Perform weekly cycle counts
  • Conduct shelf-life inspections
  • Manage RMA processing
  • Maintain Vendor Managed Inventory products
  • Perform material handling duties as required
  • Provide friendly, professional service to manufacturing personnel requesting material
  • Work closely with other stockroom clerks, production control and purchasing personnel, customer service, and finance
  • Organize and conduct annual inventory as scheduled
  • Process inbound and outgoing freight, including the receipt of material systematically
  • Reconcile physical inventory versus packing slip
  • Distribute daily shortage reports to key personnel and participate in shortage meeting as needed
  • Process stock outage requisitions
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by making every effort to “do it right”
  • Provide value to our customers by using Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste in all forms (scrap/rework, transportation, motion, waiting, inventory, over-production, over-processing, and underutilization of people)
  • Use systemic thinking by seeing processes from end to end and work to challenge the status quo to eliminate the root cause of problems
  • Be involved in individual and/or team activities that involve using Lean tools and concepts to improve the flow of information and material
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Stockroom/Inventory Clerk

  • 3-5 years of experience in a stockroom environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read and write, have a working knowledge of basic math functions, and be able to use basic office equipment
  • Must be computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a plus
  • Experience with Lean Systems, Kanban and/or VMI inventory is preferred
  • Good working knowledge of MRP
  • Must be able to lift material up to 50 lbs. on a continuous basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and climb ladders
  • Must be able to safely operate material handling motorized equipment

The Stockroom/Inventory Clerk works Monday through Friday, from 6:50am-3:10pm. Pay starts at $17/hour. Apply today!
