Federal: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and I-9 Compliance

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made recent changes to policies related to Form I-9 compliance. Several errors that have previously been classified as technical or procedural – administrative or clerical mistakes, are now considered substantive violations – those that could lead to hiring an unauthorized worker.

The USCIS Handbook for Employers M-274 outlines why, who, and how to complete the I-9 form. To learn more regarding recent USCIS updates access the Form I-9 Inspection Fact Sheet here.
