DOVER, N.H., October 8, 2020—Leddy Group, a privately owned, regional staffing company serving New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and northern Massachusetts since 1994, is proud to announce that the organization’s longtime human resources consultant Fran Lefavour is the recipient of this year’s Ry Perry HR Hero Award.
Named for a New Hampshire man whose career centered around advancing human rights, the Ry Perry Hero Award is awarded annually to one HR professional whose contributions have made a significant impact within New Hampshire’s human resource field. Widely respected and well-known as an expert in workers’ compensation and human resources, Fran has been an active member of New Hampshire’s HR community for several decades. She has held leadership roles on committees of the Business & Industry Association (BIA), the Seacoast HR Association, and the HR State Council of New Hampshire. In addition, Fran served on multiple committees and chaired the annual Granite State Human Resources Conference. She served on the New Hampshire Department of Labor’s Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board for over ten years, as well as the New Hampshire Department of Labor Wage & Hour Appeals Board. She is a mentor to many in the HR industry and is often requested for speaking engagements throughout New England. Additionally, she has volunteered for several local non-profit organizations.
“I was overwhelmed and honored to receive the Ry Perry HR Hero Award,” Fran said. “It is special because Ry Perry was one of my heroes.”
Fran gained vast experience in the HR field early in her career while working for several large employers, and began an HR consulting business in the early 1990s that serviced multiple companies throughout New England. She subsequently sold this business to Leddy Group, where she has continued to provide ongoing HR consulting services to this day.
Mary Leddy commented, “Fran has been critical to our organization ever since we initially hired her in the mid-1990s to remotely manage our human resources as an outside consultant. She quickly proved her value as she saved us from some major worker’s compensation challenges and later personally groomed our existing Senior VP of HR. We are thankful for Fran’s help and support all of these years as she has continued to work with us, even after semi-retirement.”
The Ry Perry HR Hero Award is typically presented at the annual Granite State HR Conference. Due to COVID-19, the 2020 conference was held virtually and the award was presented to Fran on September 15, 2020.
