Power of Connectivity Story: Hannah Munck and Alie Wood

Hannah Munck was seeking a human resources internship for the summer after her junior year of college when she came across an opportunity posted online by Alie Wood, Senior Staffing Manager at Leddy Group. As she interviewed Hannah, Alie could see that her intelligence, skills, and maturity, gained through her studies and extensive work experience, would make Hannah a strong candidate. Hannah secured and successfully completed the internship, graduated a semester early with her degree in Business Administration & Management in December 2023, and started a full-time role as an HR generalist based on a connection from one of her professors. However, after about nine months in the position, Hannah knew it wasn’t the right fit for her. “I felt like I had been thrown into the job,” says Hannah. “As someone who was starting a career, I needed guidance and mentorship.”

That’s when Hannah reached back out to Alie. She had enjoyed building a strong rapport with Alie during her internship, and knew she could trust Alie to help her find a new role in a supportive environment where she could do what she loves most: helping people. Alie was thrilled to reconnect with Hannah and assist with her career search. She presented Hannah with several different HR opportunities at nearby employers, but was eager to also mention an internal opening at Leddy Group. The Seacoast team was seeking a full-time Staffing Coordinator to support recruiting and staffing tasks at Leddy Group’s Dover, NH office. Alie felt that Hannah would be a great fit for the role because “she’s immensely smart, quick, personable, process-driven, but adaptable. She likes to be active in the community and values the role that Leddy Group can play in people’s lives.” Hannah was very interested, so Alie recommended her to the Regional Director team for consideration. In October 2024, Hannah landed the job and joined Leddy Group!

As a Staffing Coordinator, Hannah supports the Seacoast team with a variety of tasks to streamline the job placement process. She conducts introductory calls to applicants, schedules interviews, and helps touch up candidates’ resumes. Hannah loves connecting candidates with the right Leddy Goup team member to help them find the ideal position. “Someone might be a good fit for an office job and a manufacturing job based on their previous experience, so finding them the best fit involves building strong relationships and collaborating across team members,” she says. She continues to utilize her HR skillset as well. “When we hire on a field employee for a role, I send them their onboarding paperwork, explains Hannah. “In addition, I conduct the orientation with them for becoming a field employee with Leddy Group.” She also assists field employees with all manner of inquiries via email, call, and text, such as time card questions and helping people find the right location for their first day of work.

Leddy Group has provided an ideal environment for Hannah to flourish professionally, which she attributes to the company’s leadership, core values, and focus on building relationships as well as continuous improvement. “We aren’t stuck doing things one way. We are always trying to create new SOPs. There’s constant evolution, constant adjustment to the market,” she says. “There are many different opportunities for growth, and people cheer for their colleagues here. Not all workplaces are like that, so it’s very special.” Plus, Seacoast team members Staffing Manager Katy Howard and Senior Staffing Manager Ben Plaisted helped Hannah feel comfortable from day one. “Everyone is so welcoming and the environment is super collaborative,” says Hannah. “I work with a great group of people. We are always helping each other to succeed.”

Alie and Hannah are enjoying their new working relationship, as well, which has seamlessly switched from Staffing Manager and field employee to coworkers, due in large part to Hannah’s professionalism and eagerness to take on new challenges. Alie shares, “Hannah and I occasionally work in the same office space and it’s nice to be inspired by all of her ideas… Hannah is extremely proactive, fast-paced, and motivated – you can see the impact she’s making with her team in Dover, and we’re so lucky to have her.” Hannah says, “Alie continues to be a mentor to me, and now we get to work with each other in a different capacity. It’s great to observe how she manages people. She’s very kind, compassionate, and honest. I saw that firsthand as a field employee, and I know that her clients see that as well.” Hannah is very grateful that Alie connected her with the perfect job opportunity, sharing, “I wanted to work somewhere I could thrive, and Leddy Group is definitely it. I’m so impressed with the company, and I’m so happy to be here.”
