Siblings Heema and Vedant Sukhadiya are in different fields and phases of their respective careers, but both are grateful for the support of Leddy Group in finding new opportunities that fit their needs.

Heema moved to the United States from India in 2014 on a dependent visa. She volunteered at different places near her home in Arizona, such as at her local library, before having her first child in 2016. “I got busy creating memories with my little one,” she shares. Then in 2021, she and her family moved from the sunshine of Arizona to the “winter wonderland” of New Hampshire, and Heema began searching for a job in her chosen field of Human Resources, as she had previously obtained her Master’s in Human Resources Management in India.

Among the online job openings Heema searched, she came across an interesting one that was listed by Katie Hudson, Regional Director of Leddy Group’s Lebanon division. The role was an HR coordinator position at a nearby healthcare provider. “I submitted my resume and in a couple hours, I got connected with Katie. That changed our lives,” recalls Heema. She completed her first interview with Katie, who then helped Heema secure an interview at the company the very next day. “Things were moving so fast. I was so happy. Talking with Katie brought more confidence in me and then, the next week, I got the offer letter.” It was her first experience with a staffing agency, but she was impressed. “Searching for jobs independently was a little challenging, but the connection with Katie made the job search effective and less time-consuming.”

Heema truly enjoyed the role, and her employer was very happy having her on the team, but when she had the opportunity to visit India for an extended stay, she decided to leave the job and travel. “I learned so much through that position and made many new connections,” Heema says appreciatively. And she knew she could count on assistance from Leddy Group to find a new role when she was back in the U.S. Katie kept her in the loop with job options that fit her criteria: preferably a hybrid or remote role in HR, but she was open to administrative and customer service roles as well.

Meanwhile, Heema’s brother Vedant, who is pursuing a Master’s in Information Science from the University of New Haven in Connecticut, was looking forward to visiting her in New Hampshire after spring term 2024. As he puts it, “I planned to spend my summer break at my brother-in-law and sister’s house with their little kiddos.” Vedant was also busy seeking summer internships that aligned with his visa status, researching and considering options near his college in New Haven, his sister’s home in New Hampshire, and also Texas. That’s when Katie happened to reach out to Heema about a potential interim role. “Katie remembered I was looking for a part-time position, and as soon as she saw something available of my interest, she called me directly,” shares Heema. She was currently working for another company, so Heema says, “I told Katie that my brother is looking for a summer internship, and as this position is for 13 weeks, it looks like this will be a good fit for him.”

Vedant wasn’t quite sure about the role – an enrollment specialist on an HR team – since it didn’t align with his current studies in Information Science. However, he decided to be open-minded: “I dug deeper into it and thought it was worth giving a try and experiencing something new and different, because experiencing the software used in HR departments may allow me to evaluate the pros and cons of such software and provide me with ideas to improve them, using my skill sets that I’m developing during my coursework.” Vedant says. He’s glad he made that decision. After sharing his resume and conducting his initial interview with Katie, Vedant successfully interviewed with the employer and was selected for the paid position. When Katie called him to say he was hired, he laughs, “I was on cloud nine.” His responsibilities include processing new employee enrollment packets, conducting background checks, and maintaining accurate records. “I am enjoying working there with my colleagues, and everyone is so helpful,” shares Vedant. “Every day I’m learning.”

Vedant is thrilled with his experience with Katie and Leddy Group, who he says have “helped in all the possible ways they could. The team is so kind, polite, and has a quick response-back policy. They kept things clear and transparent from the beginning, which I like the most.  Even now, I get a call from Katie every week to get updates about my work and anything else that she could help with. I appreciate their hard work and dedication.” Vedant will be sure to keep in touch with Leddy Group “so that I have a secure workplace before I graduate.” He is also very grateful to his sister for referring him. Heema has referred a couple of friends and other relatives to Leddy Group, as well. As she says, “I would always recommend it to people who are looking to get a real job and who want to get their foot in the door of an amazing workplace.
