Controls Engineer
Our Devens, MA manufacturing client is seeking a Controls Engineer for their team. This is a contract position working Friday through Monday.
Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer

• Develop, integrate, test, commission, and support automation and control hardware and software for industrial-scale metal additive manufacturing (AM) machines and support equipment
• Troubleshoot new equipment and its integration into the production environment
• Develop and optimize the AM production ecosystem's machine data transfer and collection systems
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary team members to maximize systems’ efficiency and reliability

Qualifications of the Controls Engineer

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, or relevant field with 7+ years of relevant work experience, or Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, or relevant field with 1+ years of relevant work experience
• Demonstrated experience with the design, development, commissioning, and troubleshooting of both hardware and software associated with control systems for various industrial manufacturing equipment and processes
• Experience with various modern industrial control systems (single and multi-axis coordinated motion control, safety systems, HMI, data collection, process monitoring, industrial networks and communications using various protocols, etc.)
• Experience with automation platforms such as B&R (preferred), Beckhoff, or others
• Demonstrated ability to program in at least three IEC 61131-3 languages: LD, SFC, FBD, CFC, and ST (ST and SFC preferred)
• Additive Manufacturing (AM) or Laser Welding experience preferred
